Manila fire destroys P500,000 in property
At least P500,000 worth of properties was destroyed when a fire hit a residential-commercial building in Manila Tuesday.
Manila Fire Marshal Beverly Grimaldo said the fire started at around 1 a.m. at the first floor of a four-story building in Rizal Avenue, Sta. Cruz, Manila. Initially, the fire started from a medical supplies store.
The fire hit the establishment of the Scientific Product Company (SPC). Then the flames crawled toward the store of the Asian Medical Distributors Incorporated.
Grimaldo said they had a hard time entering the building because the fire exit was allegedly closed.
The fire did not spread toward the other structures situated nearby.
Firemen put the fire out at around 2 a.m. (Rizal S. Obanil)
