Marian Rivera grateful for 2013; hopes for more blessings in 2014
The year is not yet over, but multi-awarded actress, TV host and now film producer Marian Rivera is already looking forward excitedly to a more fruitful and blessed 2014.
The Kapuso Network’s premier actress has marked her 2013 calendar with nothing but successes and she has expressed that 2013 has been a successful and gratifying year in her career, but there’s more to come in 2014.
“Maganda ang 2013 ko. Maraming nabuksang pintuan. Marami din akong naging mga kaibigan. Maraming awards. Marami. At sa 2014 marami pang nag-aabang sa akin. Marami pa kaming gagawin,” Marian said.
In 2013, Marian added milestones to her showbiz career. The 29-year-old actress was again named “FHM: Sexiest Women of the World 2013,” after getting it in 2008. Another repeat of a milestone, only better, is her being launched as the 2014 Ginebra San Miguel Calendar Girl to be released in time for the 180th anniversary of the flagship brand of Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI). Her first stint as GSM’s Calendar Girl was in 2009.
She said in an interview about her daring and sexier 2014 calendar, “Mas conservative pa ako in 2009.
Marian, who is proud of the tastefully done calendar, shared that her photos were shot in different locations – Batangas, Boracay and Palawan. Her team was composed of Bambi Fuentes, photographer Marc Nicdao with stylist Liz Uy.
She stressed thoughthat her FHM feat and GSM Calendar don’t indicate that her career plans in 2013 was to go “sexy.” She simply saw it as opportunities to better her career. She also attributed them to her new confidence boosted by being on the cover of fashion magazines.
As regards her acting career, being the lead actress of GMA7’s top-rating primetime soap “Temptation of Wife” paved the way for a Best Actress in a Leading Role Nomination from the recently concluded 18th Asian TV Awards held last Dec. 5, 2013 at the Resorts World, Sentosa, Singapore.
Masaya na ako,” Marian said.
Humility is also one of the traits Marian has become a big star. On her first job as a movie producer with AiAi delas Alas among others, she “humbly” accepted the fate of “Kung-Fu Divas” at the box office. But her “experience as a producer” was “priceless” so to speak. She’s just happy to earn back her investment from “Kung-fu Divas.”
From experience hindi ko alam kung makakapag-produce pa ako ulit,” she said.
She admitted that her beau (Dingdong Dantes, who else?) suggested that they produce a movie together but she is still undecided about it.
Sakit sa ulo,” she said.
As actress, Marian Rivera goes back to primetime television with GMA-7’s teleserye in 2014 titled “Carmela.” After seven months from the time “Temptation of Wife” ended, “Carmela,” directed by Dominic Zapata, would again showcase her dramatic prowess onscreen with the like of Agot Isidro and her new leading man Alden Richards.
Calling it a “role she has never done before,” Marian even asked the network to put on hold the sitcom she’s supposed to do for “Carmela.”
