Marikina revenue reaches P1.7-B in 2013
Manila, Philippines – Marikina’s gross revenue collection reached P1.743 billion in 2013, Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman said yesterday.
The city government also recorded a 93 percent tax collection efficiency rate in all its income generating offices, the mayor said.
De Guzman attributed the city’s revenue gains to the cooperation extended by fellow Marikenos in paying their taxes. “We owe it to our taxpayers including those companies who continue to invest in the city and religiously paid their taxes,” he said.
De Guzman lauded the top 10 business tax payers in the city which include the PMFTC Inc., a cigarette manufacturer, which ranked number one in the top 10 good taxpayers for 2013. Others in the list are the Manila Electric Company, JT International (Philippines) Inc., Arms Corporation of the Philippines, Fortune Tobacco Corporation, DELFI Marketing, Inc. SM Marikina Department Store, SM Supermaket, Manila Water Co. Inc. and DELFI Foods, Inc, manufacturer of chocolate and candies.
