CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Aksyon Kaliwat Bulanon, an organization of Boholanons residing or doing business in Cagayan de Oro City, will
initiate a one-week relief operation here in Cagayan de Oro City. The Bulanons’ group relief operation will establish base to receive donations in Kiosko Kagawasan in Divisioria from Monday to Sunday after which relief goods will be shipped to their hometown Bohol. (Camcer Ordoňez Imam)
TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte – The provincial public health personnel battled for in the 12th Integrated Health Services Sportsfest at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex in Tagum City, recently.
Five clusters composed of hundreds of health personnel from the various local government units, provincial hospitals and the different Department of Education (DepEd) school divisions in the province joined the event. Participants played on different games such as table tennis, basketball, volleyball, running, dart, chess, dama, scrabble, badminton, swimming, kickball, and the Filipino traditional game patintero. TUBOD, Lanao del Norte – Commission on Audit (COA) officials from Cagayan de Oro City, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental and Iligan City participate in a two-day workshop at the world-class Mindanao Convention Center (MCC) Hotel, in the capital town of Tubod, in this province. The workshop, dubbed as Workshop Conference-Harmonization of IIRBA Templates in the LGS, was jointly organized by the COA-Region 10 and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN). TANDAG CITY – Officials of the provincial government of Surigao del Sur and the towns of San Miguel and Tago on Monday inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Deutsche Gesellschaft Fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) for the operationalization of a flood warning project along the giant Tago river stretching in the said two towns. Tago and San Miguel are both flood-prone municipalities in the province of Surigao del Sur. Key officials in the MOA during the signing ceremony were Surigao del Sur Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction 2nd Management Council (PDRRMC) chairman Gov. Johnny T. Pimentel, GIZ Program Director Dr. Walter Salzer, Tago Mayor Rogelio Pimentel and official of San Miguel town. (Mike U. Crismundo)
GENERAL SANTOS CITY- Security officials have intensified the campaign against terrorism by tapping local officials and private sector to take an active role in the endeavor. Assistant Secretary Oca Sevilla, executive director of Anti-Terrorism Council, met Thursday with ranking officials of military, police, local governments, and businessmen in Central Mindanao to formally launch the whole-nation approach to fight terrorism. “The threat on terrorism is not the sole responsibility of police and military, there must be an active role of all sectors to address this problem,” Sevilla said. He said ATC has been conducting seminars around Mindanao region to bolster the government’s campaign against terrorism in the area. (Joseph Jubelag)
