Miss Manila 2014 aims to raise funds for dialysis machines
Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada hopes for his Miss Manila project to raise enough money for purchase of at least 100 dialysis machines meant for their beneficiary, the non-profit institution named the Dialysis Center of MARE Foundation Inc.
“Libre ito para sa mga mahihirap. Maraming mahihirap ang namamatay na lang dahil sa hindi kaya yung sinisingil at pag-gamot sa dialysis…eh madalas pa ay two sessions sila a week so the poor can’t afford that,” Estrada said at the presentation of the Miss Manila candidates held at Diamond Hotel a few days ago, with finals set for June 24 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
The dialysis machines will be brought to the new Gat Andres Hospital, he added.
