MMDA to deploy 1,600 traffic men for school opening

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will deploy 1,600 traffic men for the school opening this June.

Emerson Carlos, assistant general manager for operations of MMDA, said the traffic enforcers will man and monitor the university belt along Manila and Katipunan Road, Commonwealth Avenue and Cubao in Quezon City.

He also said that they will also implement and intensify anti-jaywalking campaign to help maintain the safety of pedestrians and the students.

“Since only elementary and high schools will open this Monday, we still expect traffic slow to be smooth during the first week week of the month,” said Carlos. (Anna Liza Alavaren)
