Most promising celebrities in 2014 (Part 2)

Los Angeles – In the world of Hollywood, every person aspires to be the next “IT” boy or girl, or the “hottest” dream lad or lass. The line that separates the ones that really make it and last for a long time in the “Hunger Games” of Celebritydom and those that falter is luck and a lot of talent.

As a continuation of our list last week, here are our other choices of talented actors and actresses to watch out for in 2014. Wish them luck!

Watch out for the new lead stars of Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of “Miss Saigon” – Manila-based actress Rachelle Ann Go (who will play Gigi), Los Angeles-based actor Jon Jon Briones (The Engineer), and North Carolina-based 17-year-old high school student Eva Noblezada (Kim).

Pinoy pop star Rachelle will fly to London for her “Saigon” debut, while Jon Jon, who was part of the original West End cast, will reprise his role.

We are excited for Fil-Am Eva Noblezada, whose much-coveted role of Kim has made Lea Salonga, the original Kim in the 1989 West End run of “Miss Saigon,” an international award-winning artist.

This 24-year-old Chicago-based Fil-Am actor just graduated last year from college but the young actor is already making waves in the theatre scene. His portrayal of the youngest son Mikey in the Fil-Am play “Mahal” at the Bailiwick Chicago Theater earned him critical acclaim.

Born to Filipino parents and raised in Fremont, California, Kevin studied Literature and Theatre at U.C. San Diego. “My parents took a while before they supported me in my choice of a career,” he admitted. “But now they are my number one supporters.”

The second oldest among the talented L.A.-based Basco siblings, Darion impressed no less than Hollywood actor-filmmaker Diego Luna when the latter got him to portray Filipino labor leader Larry Itliong in Luna’s upcoming biopic “Chavez” alongside Michael Peña in the title role.

Performing, acting, singing and dancing is nothing new to Darion since he grew up in a family of entertainers. All his siblings – Dante, Derek, Dion and Arianna – are actors.

Some people are just lucky…and beautiful and talented. Megan is the Philippines’ first Miss World titleholder. Born in Alexandria, Virginia to Filipina mother Victoria Talde and American father Calvin Young, Megan’s first showbiz break was when she joined the talent reality search, “StarStruck.” After two years with GMA Artist Center, she joined ABS-CBN following her sister actress Lauren Young.

With her beauty, talent and intelligence, we are sure there will be more opportunities for Megan to join the acting world and, who knows, Hollywood may even knock on her door.
