Shari’ah Bar Roll Of Attorneys

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) yesterday said the Supreme Court has set for May 14 the signing into the Roll of Attorneys of 122 passers of the Special Shari’ah Bar Examinations held on Jan. 19 and 26 this year. In a Facebook post, NCMF Commissioner Mehol K. Sadain said SC provided NCMF a copy of the April 22, 2014 resolution on reports of alleged irregularities in the Islamic Law bar tests. “From the testimonies of the witnesses, and after perusing the records and the report by the Office of the Bar Confidant, the Committee has concluded that the allegations contained in the separate letters are baseless, mere conjectures and surmises and deserve scant consideration from the Court,” Sadain quoted the resolution as saying. HDO Cancellations

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) asked over the weekend clerks of regional trial court all over the country to furnish it with copies of the cancellation of hold departure orders (HDO) issued to individuals who were cleared of charges filed against them. BI Commissioner Seigfred Mison made the request in order to not to inconvenience travellers going abroad. He noted the problem encountered by passengers of being stopped by immigration officers from boarding their flights at international airports despite their acquittal by the court. (Jun Ramirez)
