Reverend Fr. Benjamin Jugueta, Jr., parish priest of the St. John Vianney Church in Barangay Cembo, Makati City, will celebrate a feast mass at 6 p.m. today in observance of the Feast of Saint John Vianney, the patron of priests and model of all parochial clergy. Today marks his 155th death anniversary.   A dawn procession will be held at 4:30 a.m. Novena masses were celebrated from July 26 to Aug. 3. Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle presided over a high mass in honor of St. John last July 28 at 6 p.m.  Known as the Cure of Ars, St. John served as the parish priest of Ars, a remote village in France, where he converted many to the faith through his pastoral work, saintly life, and persevering ministry in the sacrament of confession. Born in 1786 in Dardilly, France, St. John was ordained priest in 1815 and began his service as parish priest of Ars in 1818. (Christina I. Hermoso)


A Lotto 6/42 bet placed in Toril, Davao City, hit on Saturday the P11.6-million jackpot for the August 2 draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said yesterday.
