Grand Lotto pot to reach P93M

The jackpot for today’s Grand Lotto 6/55 draw is expected to reach P93 million, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said yesterday. Conrado Zabella, PCSO assistant general manager for gaming, product development and marketing sector, said no one matched all six numbers drawn for the Grand Lotto last Monday which carried a jackpot P87,079,576. The winning combination was 39-49-14-20-29-23. Zabella said seven bettors will get P187,290 each for matching at least five of the winning numbers combination. Winners of PCSO’s various lotto and lottery games and products are exempt from paying taxes. (Edd K. Usman)

PAGASA loses another weatherman

Another weatherman has resigned from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to work in Qatar, the fourth to leave the state weather bureau in a week. Philippine Weathermen Employees Association (PWEA) president Ramon Agustin yesterday confirmed the resignation of Weather Observer 3 Christopher Galang, who was assigned to the PAGASA’s doppler station in Subic. He said Galang joined the three weathermen who left last week to work in Qatar. Those who left their jobs at the PAGASA last week were Bernie De Leon, a weather forecaster at the PAGASA main office; Ralph Ricahuerta, an airport forecaster assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport; and Engr. Ralph Soquila, a communications specialist at the PAGASA’s Engineering Division. The three will work as airport forecasters and communications specialist at the Qatar’s Bureau of Meteorology.
