MANILA, Philippines –  Final Update:  As of the latest PAGASA  weather bulletin issued at 11:00 a.m. , July 28,2011, Tropical Storm “JUANING" has maintained its strength as it moved out from the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning.

At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “JUANING” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 370 km

ILOILO CITY, Philippines (PNA)– The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) in Capiz is monitoring the situation in flashflood-stricken barangays in Pres. Roxas and neighboring towns due to heavy downpour spawned by the low pressure area approaching Eastern Samar.

PDRRMC Action Officer Espiridion Pelaez confirmed that some 100 families living in three barangays in Pres. Roxas, Capiz have already been affected by the flashflood brought about by torrential rains since Saturday.

MANILA,Philippines (PNA) -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said all security measures are in place to ensure that no untoward incident will mar President Benigno S. Aquino III's second State-of- the-Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

According to NCRPO Director Alan Purisima, five police security task forces will take care of the security measures as well as traffic coordination with the city government of Quezon City and other government agencies to ensure a peaceful SONA during the reopening of the 15th Congress tomorrow.

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh vowed on Thursday to bring to justice those behind triple bomb attacks on India's financial capital Mumbai, and police questioned members of a home-grown Islamist militant group.

No group has claimed responsibility for Wednesday's attacks, the most deadly since Pakistan-based militants struck India's financial hub in 2008, killing 166 people and raising tensions with nuclear rival Pakistan.

IYARBAKIR, Turkey (Reuters) - Kurdish fighters killed 13 Turkish soldiers and seven militants died on Thursday in the worst clash since the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) ended a ceasefire in February.

Turkey's chief of staff said in a statement that grenades thrown by the militants ignited a fire in the heavily forested area where the clash occurred and 13 soldiers died in the blaze. It said seven soldiers were wounded.

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Three explosions rocked crowded districts of India's financial capital of Mumbai during rush hour on Wednesday, killing at least eight people, media said, in the biggest attack on the city since 2008 assaults blamed on Pakistan-based militants.

At least 100 people were wounded in the near-simultaneous blasts, the home secretary said. Police earlier said at least three people had died.

MANILA, Philippines -- A  6.2- magnitude earthquake occurred in Sipalay Negros Occidental at 4:47 a.m today with two aftershocks of 5.7 and 5.5 magnitude located at 112 km S 70° W of Dumaguete City (Negros Occidental) ,so far,recorded based on PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity scale.

In an interview, PHIVOLCS Deputy Director Dr. Bartolome Bautista said there have been no reports of injuries or major damage as said earthquake had struck off at safer depth. No tsunami warnings have been issued in the aftermath.

MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine Atmospheric,Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has been monitoring two Low Pressure Area (LPA). As per PAGASA's latest bulletin issued at 5:00 a.m. today, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) estimated based on satellite and surface data was at 250 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (21.5°N, 124.5°E) at 2:00 a.m. Another Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 350 km West Southwest of Laoag City (17.0°N, 117.0°E). Monsoon trough affecting Luzon and Visayas.
