Douglas Quijano found dead in Quezon rest house
Prominent movie and television talent manager Douglas Quijano was found dead Saturday morning inside his rest house in Lucban, Quezon, a police official said.
Senior Inspector Francis Pasno, chief of police of Lucban town, said the body of 65-year-old Quijano was discovered by his househelps around 10 a.m. inside the master’s bedroom of his house in Countryville Subdivision located in Barangay Ayuti.
One of his househelps reportedly knocked on the door to wake him up, and when he did not respond, Pasno said the former entered the room and discovered the lifeless body of Quijano.
“Nakadapa siya nung makita sa ibaba ng kama niya, nasa sahig na siya” said Pasno in a phone interview.
Quijano’s househelps then sought for the assistance of the local police, which in turn sent Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO) operatives to examine the room and Quijano’s body.
But Pasno said there was no indication of any foul play on Quijano’s death, saying the report they received from the SOCO, which conducted the autopsy, said he died of cardiac arrest.
“We were also told that he is suffering from other illnesses like diabetes, siguro nagkaroon ng kumplikasyon,” the official said.
Quijano, who was known as a talent manager of several popular actors like Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez, was also a film director and producer.
Pasno said Quijano’s resthouse is located at the foot of Mount Banahaw.
