In her career, actress Angelica Panganiban has put a premium on loyalty, and this has given her good karma, and earned her good dividends!

She has been with ABS-CBN for a long time, having grown up with the network, and just recently Angelica inked a renewal of her contract with Star Cinema. It’s for two years and three movies. And aside from a bouquet of flowers, she also got a long white envelop that made her shrill in delight. A signing bonus check?

“It’s probably just a letter,” she reacted smiling. “I’m very happy that I’ll be doing movies again. We all know that Star Cinema always produce quality films so it feels good to be part of the Star Cinema family again.”

Part of her movie deal is the film she’s currently doing with Gabby Concepcion and her real-life sweetheart Derek Ramsay. Entitled “I Love You, Goodbye,” it is directed by Laurice Guillen. Another in the works for her is a film with Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Toni Gonzaga and Pokwang under the direction of Jeffrey Jeturian.

“Star Cinema has thrown me lots of ideas for my movie projects but as long as we don’t roll and grind yet, I’m not certain which projects will push through because there may be changes. I have to wait and see,” said Angelica regarding her upcoming projects.

What she is busy with these days is the shooting of “I Love You, Goodbye” which started three months ago already. And like her movie with Aga Muhlach, what’s anticipated to be talked about is her daring scenes with veteran actor Gabby Concepcion. The story revolves around faithfulness in a relationship though she stressed that people would have to watch it to experience how different it is from her past films.

As an actress, she embraces such kind of role since she too is growing older and maturing in showbiz.

“I’m more confident now when it comes to acting. And I’m more confident to show more skin probably because I’m comfortable with the people I work with like my director Laurice Guillen... it would really depend on the moviegoers’ perception if I was more daring here or in my other films,” she opined.

Angelica also described working with Gabby Concepcion as relaxed even in their love scenes. They first worked together in the drama series “Iisa Pa Lamang” and they’ve also worked together in various shows here and abroad.

“I really became comfortable with Gabby because he is a very nice person... he is also very childish when he talks to you. You don’t even know if he is taking you seriously or not. We always joke around,” Angelica shared.

And how does it feel to be working with Derek Ramsay in a movie?

“We never actually expected to be in the same movie together. We never even expected that Star Cinema would show us their support by entrusting us this movie and give our tandem a big break. It’s very flattering but it’s a big pressure for both of us,” she giggled.

Aside from her movies, Angelica Panganiban is in the TV shows “The Wedding” and “Banana Split.”
