More rains are expected in the whole country as the weather forecasting agency spotted an active low pressure area (ALPA) a few miles away from the Bicol region early Monday morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the ALPA was last seen at about 240 kilometers east of Bicol and was embedded along the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

The weather bureau said that the system will make cloudy skies bringing scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms in the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon including Metro Manila.

Gusting winds from 30 to 60 kph, the ALPA will cause increment weather in the next 24 hours as it is expected to have "higher possibility of intensifying" or turning into tropical cyclones.

In its latest weather update released at 5 a.m. Monday, PAGASA said that Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
