"I guess we’ve been married a lot of times!”

This was actress Wendy Valdez’ remark after finding out, again, an alleged existing marriage certificate with her name on it along with that of long-time beau Bruce Quebral (both from “Pinoy Big Brother Season 2” fame).

“I really don’t know why this keeps happening. Maybe our fans really like us to end up together that they make up this fake marriage certificates,” she added.

According to her, if they do get married, she won’t hide or deny it. At the moment, marriage for them is a luxury because they are both “bread winners” of their respective families. In fact, that is the reason Bruce had to give up a showbiz career for another – as a flight attendant of Emirates Airline.

“We only see each other whenever he has a 24-hour layover in Manila or when he comes home for a vacation…we just text each other because I’m not fond of using the internet or sending e-mails that’s why he gets mad at me at times,” she shared.

Despite texting and some calls as mere ways to keep the flame alive, Wendy shared that their long distance relationship is surviving. When asked how she feels about the “temptations” Bruce could face in Dubai, she said that she trusts him and that he is not a “womanizer.”

“He gets lonely and sad whenever he has layovers in beautiful places in Europe. He tells me he always wishes I was there with him to enjoy where he is,” described Wendy of how much Bruce misses him too.

So are they already saving-up for their “big day?”

“We’re not. We don’t have a joint savings account and I don’t meddle with his finances. And he doesn’t send me money nor do I ask money from him,” declared Wendy.

She added that she is saddened because she has also been hearing some negative feedbacks about Bruce being in Dubai and that she’s been receiving money from him. The actress said that this is one of the things they have to straighten up before they get married.

Even before she entered showbiz, Wendy was already a bread winner and a hard worker at that. She has gone through hardships and knows how to save whatever earnings she has gotten from her shows like the now defunct “I Love Betty La Fea.” And asking for money, she said, is not her cup of tea.

She recalled, “I know there are some people who thought that since I was ‘mahirap’ ‘papatol ako’ because they were rich. Before, I thought about it, but I’m not like that.”

But what happens now if a rich suitor comes into her life and is serious about a relationship?

“I think God will help me and Bruce through difficult situations,” she replied confidently.

The 26-year-old TV personality celebrated her birthday last June 2 via party given by her fans at Saisaki restaurant in West Avenue last May31. Bruce gave her a black hobo Coach bag for a present.

“My birthday wish is for our families’ situations to get better. We still have a lot of things to deal with in our lives,” she sighed.

After “I Love Betty La Fea,” Wendy is taking her sweet time to catch up with her friends. Though she misses the daily-taping-grind, she still has been busy with her guest appearances in different ABS-CBN shows. She expressed that she leaves everything to Star Magic which has been managing her career for almost two years already.

She was recently in “May Bukas Pa” and will start taping for an episode in “Precious Romance: Bud Brothers.” In the works too is another soap opera which she is crossing her fingers to come true.
Speaking of Star Magic, in celebration of its 17th year, a star-studded extravaganza on “ASAP 09” ushers ABS-CBN Star Magic’s grand anniversary celebration on June 21.
