Patrick Garcia will do everything to finally see Alex Jazz, his baby with former girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado.

The actor is decided to make the first move, but how to start is a problem.

“I don’t know her cellphone number. Nagpalit na kasi siya ng number. Siguro, I’ll ask for it na lang,” the actor said at a recent press conference for GMA 7 TV series, “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin.”

Patrick plays “Troy,” a young man who falls in love with the character of Maxene Magalona in the TV version. Troy was played by Ricky Davao in the movie version topbilled by Sharon Cuneta in 1987.

What if Jen snubs his text messages?

“I will still try and see if she will reply.  Pero kung hindi, I shouldn’t stop trying,” he said.

The actor was inspired to make an effort to see his child after hearing from some people that Jen is now okay with his intention.

“I heard na okay na raw kay Jen na makita ko ang baby namin. Siguro, I’ll start by texting her.”

Patrick admits that he first saw a photo of baby AJ in a magazine, and that he dilly-dallied on his intention to see his child back then.

“Baka kasi hindi okay sa kanya [Jen]. Baka ayaw niyang makita ko ang baby ko. Si Jen kasi, medyo ma-pride,” Patrick says.

He denied doubting the paternity of Jen’s baby.

“Wala naman akong sinasabing ganoon. I knew from the very start that the baby is mine.”

Patrick was away from show business for almost a year. He went abroad and enrolled in a film school in Montreal, Canada .

When Patrick came back, he appeared on “Dear Friend,” a Sunday show hosted by Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal.

When he left the country, the actor vowed not to return to showbusiness if he will not be able to see his child.

But he now has changed his mind.

"I'm here to work for my baby. I need work para sa kanya."

He added that he is only concerned for his baby and not Jennylyn.

I no longer love Jen, he said.
