Senator Bong Revilla Jr. is happy to announce that his latest movie “Ang Panday” is more than 50% finished in terms of its principal photography. And he is banking on this film to be his entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

He said that they could finished the movie very soon which will give them more than enough time to lay down the special effects he has envisioned for the film.

Bong will be reprising his role again as the Panday which he did in the early ’90s. He, like his longtime friend Jinggoy Estrada, has played the coveted role of Panday based on the comics book series of Carlo J. Caparas which starred the late Philippine Action King Fernando Poe Jr.

“This is very different from the past ‘Panday’ films. We really sought the guidance of Mr. Carlo J. Caparas especially since this version is a prequel. It really tells the story of the Panday,” Bong described.

As always, much has been invested in his latest film project not only in its financial aspect but also in the characters involved. In fact, another renowned action star and also a long-time friend, Philip Salvador, even shaved his head for his role in “Ang Panday.”

“I’m sure that moviegoers who have followed the ‘Panday’ series will love what we’ve done in this latest version,” the senator quipped.

At the moment, aside from lending a hand to needy colleagues in showbiz, the senator is enjoying the high ratings and success for his Sunday series at GMA-7 entitled “Kaps Amazing Stories.”

With a variety of information, entertainment and even special effects, Senator Bong Revilla as host has captured the hearts of televiewers of all ages. And this Sunday, expect to be in awe with the story and discovery of the Moche civilization. More about it was unearthed by an archaeologist in 1987 as they discovered a Moche leader buried and wrapped in gold beside the remains of his nine wives.

Then there’s the discovery by a Turkish deep sea diver of what could be the oldest shipwreck – the Uluburun. The shipwreck was found under the Mediterranean sea and it’s believed to be 3,300 years old. Moreover, there’s a segment on the Mayan civilization and the interesting discovery of skulls from the “missing link” which is said to be the evolvement of man from a monkey. The oldest was discovered at the desert of Chad in 2002 which they called Toumai. It’s believed to be seven million years old.
