On bad breath and bad work ethics
Actress Shaina Magdayao has belied rumors that actor Jake Cuenca has bad breath.
“Kawawa naman po siya. Wala, wala pong ganoon. Nagto-toothbrush naman po siya,” Shaina said at the press conference for the film “Villa Estrella” which both stars topbill along with other ABS-CBN talents.
“Sa almost everyday naming pagsasama ay wala naman po akong naamoy na masama sa kanya.”
But if she does, will she tell the actor upfront about his oral hygiene?
“Kung meron po, didiretsuhin ko siya,” said Shaina who also has had kissing scenes with Jake on an afternoon soap opera.
Rumors about Jake having bad breath first surfaced in blind items. Jake was eventually identified as the blind items’ subject.
Cristine Reyes (Jake’s co-actor in “Bud Brothers,” an afternoon drama) was said to have spread this rumor about the actor.
However, Jake was first to clear Cristine’s name on the issue.
“Cristine was very professional to work with. I look forward to working with her again,” he said.
In an unrelated news, awarded actor Jiro Manio was pulled out of the cast of “Tayong Dalawa” recently because of “unprofessional and irresponsible behavior,” according to an official statement issued by TV network, ABS-CBN.
Manio is said to have been absent many times during tapings for the prime time series. Manio plays Stan in "Tayong Dalawa" which stars Kim Chiu, Jake Cuenca and Gerald Anderson.
The actor was also booted out of Star Magic family.
Not to turn the other cheek, Manio is said to have complained to friends of how he was neglected by the TV network while he was with them. He cited the small assignments and projects that were given to him as proofs.
Prior to joining ABS-CBN, Manio had won Best Actor for his role in the film, “Magnifico.”
Manio is said to have claimed that once, in a taping for “Tayong Dalawa,” he was left behind without notice by the cast and crew while he slept inside his car.
