Action superstar Robin Padilla, once tagged as the “Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema” is set to do a movie for Star Cinema.

Padilla last worked under the Kapamilya banner some four years ago, spearheading the reality boxing series, “Kamao.”

“I am very happy to be working with [ABS CBN] again. I have many good friends there that I haven’t seen in a long time,” the actor said in Filipino.

The forthcoming Star Cinema movie will pair Robin with comedian Vhong Navarro.

Padilla acknowledged that ABS-CBN had been “very kind” to him.

“A union with sturdy roots is hard to displace. I hope [my relationship with ABS-CBN] would continue on that note,” he said.

The actor, who was last seen via the series “Totoy Bato” in rival network GMA7, admits ABS-CBN contributed a lot to his career, particularly when he was aiming for a “comeback” after his incarceration.

“I trust them, especially Star Cinema. They helped reinvent my image back then. That’s why, right now, if they would like, ask me to start shooting tomorrow, there’d be no questions about it --- I’d be there as early as 7 AM.”
