If you’re a fan of senseless humor and spandex taught over athletic bodies, then I’m sure you too are a fan of the GMA game show “Hole in the Wall.” Much more than zany contestants trying to squeeze themselves through literal holes in a moving wall to avoid getting pushed into a pool of water, the program is the perfect showcase for the comic antics of Ogie Alcasid and slapstick pal Michael V. who host the program in costume as their alter egos of bratty Angelina and her yaya.

Well, here’s some good news because Ogie’s and Michael V’s “Hole in the Wall” characters will be the subject of a new film entitled “Spoiled Brat” which promises to be a laugh trip.

Multimedia star Ogie Alacasid currently has a lot on his plate. Other than that movie in the works, he is busy with the last few shooting days of his new film, “O.M.G.” which pairs him for the first time with Judy Ann Santos. “O.M.G.” is set to be shown at the end of July. Ogie is very excited with “O.M.G.” because he plays a dual role.

“I’m very excited and I'm looking forward to the release of this film", says the singer-songwriter. Ogie truly enjoys working with producer, Mother Lily Monteverde.

Ogie is also recording his forthcoming album from Universal Records. His previous album, “The Great Filipino Songbook,” just turned platinum.

Stars turn out for U.R.U.

Great news to all fashionistas! U.R.U. has recently re-opened its store at the Fashion Village in Tiendesitas featuring a brand new collection of clothes, bags and accessories by young Filipino designers Vida Tan, Maco Custodio and Paul Herrera, a member of the Young Designers Guild of the Philippines.

The special event held last June 5 was attended by friends and avid fans of the clothing line. Actresses Sunshine Dizon and LJ Reyes, and TV personalities JM Rodriguez and Veronica Baluyut Jimenez made the event more special, having showed their support to Ailene Co, owner and designer for U.R.U. It has been a night of celebration of local style and individuality as models paraded wearing the best and newest designs from U.R.U.

The event was hosted by Jordan Escusa and Tracy Abad, who themselves have felt the U.R.U. experience.

U.R.U. spells class, style, fashionability and versatility. More than that, individuality is of topmost priority – the true mark of every U.R.U. clothing and accessory.

U.R.U. has other branches at Greenhills Shopping Center, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Place Ermita, Crafts of Boracay, and NCCC Malls in Davao and Palawan. For more information, visit www.uru.com.ph.

America, Ambrosia and John Ford Coley tour

The magnificent sound fusing classic pop, rock and folk will fill the concert scene when three of the biggest names in international music gather together in a major act showcasing the best and the brightest in popular music during the past half century.

For the first time in their long and successful careers, America, Ambrosia and John Ford Coley will share the same stage and demonstrate their distinct talents, vocal qualities and styles as they perform their greatest hits during a special concert on July 31 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

Billed as “America, Ambrosia & John Ford Coley Live!,” the Big Dome show to be mounted by Ovation Productions will kick off a four-night concert series that will also include performances by America at the Nueva Caceres University in Naga City on Aug. 1; Subic Convention Center, Aug. 2; and Summit Center, Zamboanga City, Aug. 4.

Following the three-in-one act, Ambrosia is scheduled to perform solo a longer set during a dinner-show at the Hard Rock Café in Makati City on Aug. 1.

America returns to the concert scene almost two years after its successful  five-night tour in 2007 which was highlighted by a jampacked show at the Big Dome in its comeback bid more than two decades since its 1981 debut at the Folk Arts Theater (now Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas).
