‘Lobo’ wins at Banff World TV Awards
The fantasy-thriller television series that marked the debut of Angel Locsin on ABS-CBN, “Lobo,” was hailed as the winner for the Teleserye Program category in the recent 30th Banff World Television Awards held at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Canada recently.
Another feather is added to the cap of ABS-CBN. This is because the award that “Lobo” garnered came from one of the most important international media events in Canada, the Banff World Television Festival.
Chosen from over 800 entries, different entrants representing 29 countries have taken a chance on the said award giving body. However, only 23 were chosen as category winners, and “Lobo” was one of the selected few.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, FM Reyes and Jerry Lopez Sineneng, “Lobo” was a high-rating primetime series starred by Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual, a TV program that depicted the love story of Lyka, a woman who belongs to a clan of white wolves and Noah who portrays a second lieutenant of the Philippine Army.
Banff World Television Festival is a prestigious affair dedicated to world television programming, including its creation and development. Celebrities, writers, directors, and producers from broadcast and production companies around the world attend the annual event.
