Comedienne Giselle Sanchez has finally bathed a month after giving birth to her second son, Zappa.

Giselle’s decision to not bathe is in lieu of her practice of Ge-Lai, a Chinese way of post natal partum which she learned from her mother.

“Ge Lai is a Chinese tradition that has been around more than a thousand years. A woman who had just given birth, sits on freshly boiled guava leaves and abstains from bathing for a month,” she said in entertainment-oriented show,“Showbiz News Ngayon” on July 13.

Giselle said she immediately reaped its benefits.

“Lumiit agad ang uterus ko and on the 10th day, maliit na din‘yung puson ko,” she said.

Instead of bathing, the comedinne sponged her body and splashed on perfume everyday.

The comedienne said her body reached the point when it was no longer accustomed to taking a bath.

“Kaya pala meron kang Ge Lai mistress na papaliguan ka," she said. "Pagkatapos mo kasing paliguan ay manginginig ka dahil hindi ka na sanay.”

In her blog, Giselle shared some of the benefits from skipping bathing for a month. These include developing stronger resistance to illnesses, faster recovery and more bonding time with the baby.

“I recommend it to all mothers,” she said.
