Comedienne Pokwang has “earned” an invitation to grace an event in General Santos, South Cotabato, thanks to her impersonation of Manny Pacquiao’s mother, Dionisia.

Manny himself called up Pokwang to extend the invitation.

Pooh is a comedian whose claim to fame is his impersonation of Manny. A good friend of Pokwang’s, they often ring each other pretending to be Manny and Dionisia.

Pokwang said he only confirmed that it was really the People’s Champ calling when she heard him laugh.

Pokwang admitted to have felt apprehensive when she realized it was Manny who was on the other line. She thought that Manny may have been slighted with her impersonations of his mom, and that he called up to tell her off.

As it turned out, Manny has no problems with Pokwang’s parody at all. The People’s Champ even told Pokwang that either the people of General Santos or Dionisia herself wants the comedienne in General Santos.

When asked why the event requires Pokwang’s service instead of Mommy Dionisia’s who will be there anyway, Pokwang joked:

“Baka busy si mommy kaka-ballroom dancing - o baka may rayuma!”
