Actress Judy Ann Santos has spurned rumors that she provoked veteran actor Roderick Paulate to walk out of the set of their forthcoming movie, “Oh My Girl,” due to tardiness.

“Nagkaroon lang ng konting misunderstanding with the staff,” she said in the July 16 episode of “Showbiz News Ngayon.” “Kuya Dick was called in earlier than the original call time na pang-gabi sana kaya napaaga siya dumating.”

The actress added that she was also feeling ill that day so she had to leave at midnight.

“Pero sinabi ko naman yon kay Kuya Dick. I sought him out and told him, ‘Kuya Dick, sorry, pero kailangan ko ng umuwi kasi masamang masama na ang pakiramdam ko.’”

Juday said that she could never abuse Roderick’s kindness, or anyone else’s, especially because the actor is known for his punctuality.

“Napaka-professional ni Kuya Dick at hindi ako yung tipo ng tao na mang-ha-hassle sa kagaya niya. Madami lang talagang hassles that day.”

It is not the first time someone from the cast or crew of “Oh My Girl” was rumored to have walked out of the set.

A few weeks back, director Dante Nico Garcia is said to have thrown a fit while they were shooting in Taal, Batangas in front of Basilica of St. Martin of Tours.

Before the shoot, young actor Jairus Aquino had complained that the young girl who plays Judy Ann’s character in the movie is too heavy for him to carry.

With this, assistant director Alan Chanliongco asked talent coordinator Arlene Tolentino Hermoso to scout for a leaner double.. Hermoso obliged but failed to find someone appropriate.

Apparently, few choices, if any at all, were available at that time since it was already past midnight.

The talent coordinator told associate producers Alan and Donna Castillo about the problem. Together with Donna, Hermoso went to Garcia.

Sources said that Garcia had raised his voice in anger at the two ladies. After Donna walked out, Garcia is said to have thrown a chair to vent out his frustration.

Manila Bulletin Online tried to verify the rumor but did not get confirmation.
