Despite Regine Velasquez’s recent bout with swine flu, she did not infect her singer-boyfriend Ogie Alcasid with the dreaded A(H1N1) virus.

“Nagpa-iniksyon din [kasi] ako,” he said in the press conference for his forthcoming film, “Oh, My Girl.”

Ogie was initially clueless on what afflicted Regine.

“Ang alam ko lang, may lagnat to death saka ubo, sipon siya. Hindi ko alam na H1N1. Akala ko, hina lang, H1NA,” he joked.

Ogie was not able to accompany the Songbird to the doctor although he was there when the results of the tests were released.

Regine went on self-quarantine for two weeks upon her doctor’s advise. Ogie helped nurse her back to health. 

On other matters, the songwriter said he looks forward to the wedding of his former wife Michelle Van Eimeren to her boyfriend Mark Murro this November.

“Hindi ako nagtataka kung bakit minahal ni Michelle si Mark. Tapat, mabait, masipag, matalino [kasi siya],” Ogie said.

He’s confident that his two lovely daughters, Leila and Sarah are in good hands with their stepdad.

“I can see how much he adores them and how much they (Leila, Sarah)  respect him as their new father."
