Games Wednesday (The Arena, San Juan)
10 a.m. — AUF vs JRU (Jrs)
11:45 a.m. — EAC vs MIT (Jrs)
2 p.m. — AUF vs JRU (Srs)
4 p.m. — EAC vs MIT (Srs)

Jose Rizal University coach Ariel Vanguardia knows that for the Heavy Bombers to get back to the NCAA Finals this season, they have to treat every game as if it’s going to be their last, even against a guest team like Angeles University Foundation.

“Every game is important, every win counts. So even against a guest team, we have to keep our focus,” said Vanguardia as JRU tackles the Great Danes Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the NCAA basketball wars at The Arena in San Juan City.

Clashing in the 4 p.m. encounter are Mapua (1-3) and another guest squad Emilio Aguinaldo College, which is seeking its first win after dropping its first four starts.

The Bombers are currently at second with a 4-0 win-loss card, and a win will tie them anew with San Sebastian College.

The Stags remained unbeaten following a masterful 80-49 victory over the Arellano University Chiefs last Monday.

The AUF Great Danes and the Cardinals, on the other hand, sport similar 1-3 records. AUF’s win came against Emilio Aguinaldo (86-75), while Mapua’s lone win so far was opposite AUF (101-63) two weeks back.

For a team that came short of winning the championship last season, expectations are high for JRU. The Bombers lost to San Beda, 2-1, in their best of three finals last season.
