The Box-Office King and Queen tandem of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo really went far beyond everyone’s expectations. They may be called a phenomenal love team, with an unbeatable chemistry on and off screen, having two box-office movies – to which fans clamor for more – and just recently in endorsing the same product they both believe in and grew up with.

John Lloyd and Sarah are now the new endorsers of Lucky Me Pancit Canton. In the recent press launch for their newest endorsement, their chemistry on screen was once again tested to which their TVC attests to their extraordinary romance and “kilig” factor.

Growing up
 
John Lloyd says that as a child, he was a very obedient son – quiet but sometimes a “running man.” Sarah on the other hand was a very “biba” girl in her young years, in contrast to what she is now, a bit shy and quiet.

But what connects the feel-good couple is their favorite feel-good food while growing up and even up to now – Lucky Me Pancit Canton. They confessed their favorites: JL’s is hot and spicy while Sarah’s is calamansi or chilimansi.

Marivic Cajucom-Uy, Marketing Director of Monde Nissin, has no qualms about their newest endorsers. In fact, she believes that they are the perfect match for the product. “We took a look at today’s celebrities, and among them, we noticed the chemistry and feel-good moments between John Lloyd and Sarah. We feel that they embody the characteristics of Lucky Me! Pancit Canton – youthful, fun and appealing.”

Sweet and Spicy relationship

Everyone can attest to the chemistry JL and Sarah have. But for JL, “chemistry kasi is something you can’t create. It just happens. We are blessed to have chemistry. Andiyan na din ang good relationship sa isa’t isa and respect.” Sarah adds, “Siguro ‘yung genuine friendship din is another factor.”

They both compare each other to Lucky Me Pancit Canton Sweet and Spicy flavor. JL told of Sarah, “Si Sarah sweet and spicy kasi nagtatransform siya every time she’s onstage. Nagiging Lady GaGa or Beyonce.”

“Si John Lloyd sweet and spicy din. Sweet kasi maasikaso, gaan pakiramdam kapag kasama mo and generous. Spicy kasi lakas ng appeal,” Sarah said.

But one more factor for their good relationship according to them is timing. “Napakaganda siguro nung timing. Matagal na naghihintay ang mga fans ni Sarah na magkaroon siya ng pelikula, and finally nangyari. With Direk Cathy, she was on a role na lahat ng gawin niya nagiging success. Ako naman, galing naman ako sa napakaraming movies at teleseryes din. And ngayon it’s so fresh na makita ako sa big screen na iba ang kasama. I think yung success namin was material-driven. Maganda kasi yung naging project namin,” John Lloyd opined.

Feel-good moments

John Lloyd’s birthday just passed recently (June 24), which he celebrated in the US, while Sarah’s is upcoming, on July 25. (It’s so interesting to know that Rayver Cruz is celebrating his birthday today, July 23.)

Asked of his feel-good moments for his birthday, JL said, “Wala e lumipas lang [ang birthday ko]. Well, nakapagshopping ako. Yun lang, nothing really special na nangyari sa birthday ko.”

JL’s birthday wish for both of them is: “Sana masundan [ang ‘You Changed My Life’] na may Part 3 hindi lang para sa akin kundi para sa milyun-milyong sumuporta sa amin ni Sarah.”

What sets apart JL and Sarah’s incredible chemistry is that their scenes don’t require any kissing or intimacy.

“Nagawa naman po namin ng maayos kahit walang intimacy na nangyari. Walang kissing scene o kung ano man. Yun din siguro yung difference ng tandem namin ni John Lloyd. Power hug lang e solved na,” enthused Sarah.

On the line of Sarah’s song saying “You changed my life in a moment,” did they ever said this line to each other and why?

Sarah: “Marami akong natutunan kay John Lloyd na naging part ng growth ko. Basta blessed lang ako na I was given the chance to work with someone like John Lloyd na matalinong tao, mabait na kaibigan. At obviously itong nagawa niya dito sa career ko. Yung launching movie ko hindi nakakadisappoint gawa ng John Lloyd Cruz ang leading man mo.”

John Lloyd: “Iba yan si sarah. Babaguhin niyan ang buhay mo. Ganyan kalakas ang impact niyan. Mahirap lang dumitalye pero in a lot of ways and so many things, napagaan niya. Mga bagay na hindi dating magaan, pag nandiyan yan at pinagana na niya yung kanyang… contagious kasi ang energy niyan eh so pag gumana na yung vibes niyan, susunod ka na lang.”
