Some of the talents of the late Douglas Quijano have signed up with other managers.

This they revealed during a gathering attended by Douglas’ family and close friends on July 23 at Club Filipino where a mass was held in commemoration of the 40th day of Douglas’ death.

Gelli de Belen is now with Boy Abunda. She said that Boy is the obvious choice for her since he has been the longtime manager of her husband, singer Ariel Rivera.

“Malungkot lang ang circumstance pero I’m happy to be with Boy,” she said.

Her sister Janice de Belen signed up with Popoy Caritativo who also manages the careers of Dennis Trillo and Marian Rivera.

Janice said it’s not easy choosing a new manager given Quijano’s mettle. However, she acknowledged that with all the offers being presented to her, she needed someone who would help sort these out quick.

“You have to think on your toes…you have to make a decision,” she said.

The careers of the Yllana brothers Jomari, Anjo, and Ryan are now to be handled by Malou Choa-Fagar,  SVP and COO of Tape Inc. – producer of the GMA-7 noontime show “Eat Bulaga!”

Anjo said that Malou was kind enough to present her services, seeing that the boys were “orphaned” by Quijano.

Actor John  Estrada is still undecided on whom to sign up with, if at all.

“Until the day comes na kelangan na talaga, that’s the only time I will decide,” he said.

Quijano’s biggest talent, Richard Gomez, was adamant on the matter.

“Hindi pa namin (with wife Lucy Torres) pinagpapalit si Douglas.”

Quijano died of cardiac arrest inside the bedroom of his rest house at Countryville Subdivision in Barangay Ayuti in Quezon Province on June 13, 2009. He was 64.
