In maximizing the potentials of internet, opposition Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero Saturday delivered his own version of the State-of-the-Nation Address (SoNA) through the web cam by giving out a wish list for President Arroyo to improve the lives of Filipinos in the last stretch of governance for the nation.

The 39-year-old member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition unleashed a 12-minute video in the internet entitled: “2009 SoNA: SANA TOTOO” which tackled several issues that mainly focused on the Arroyo government’s failure to address the basic needs of the citizenry.

Clad in white Barong Tagalog, Escudero zeroed in on the problems of the country that included unemployment, education, housing, agricultural productivity and graft and corruption.

In every phrase he uttered in the video, Escudero started with the Filipino word “Sana” or wishing for.

Referring to the past SoNA delivered by President Arroyo, Escudero accused her of repeatedly failing to provide an accurate assessment of the state of the nation.

In his opening salvo, the native of Sorsogon province lambasted President Arroyo for failing to address the problem on unemployment which reportedly worsened during her nine-year presidency.

“Sana, aminin natin ang datos hinggil sa may trabaho, walang trabaho at kulang ang trabaho (We wish for the government to come up with authentic data that will categorize those with jobs, those with out jobs and those with no decent jobs),” he said in the video.
