The National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (NFGB) will host the 2009 annual Bakbakan National 10-Stag Derby, which has guaranteed cash prize of P30 million, the biggest ever in Philippine cockfighting history.

The champion gets the lion’s share of P15 million.

All entries which will score a three wins (3 points) in the elimination round will share the “first-salvo blowout” of P4 million.

Those entries which have already scored three wins in the elims and continue to score another perfect three in the semifinals will share in the “finalists prize” of P2 million.

Last year, only 15 entries were undefeated and have posted six points each going into the finals.

Entries with seven points get P4 million, while entries with eight points bag P2.5 million, and with nine points, P1.5 million.

The overall runner-up finisher will receive P500,000, while the champion’s handler and champion’s gaffer prizes win P400,000 and P100,000, respectively.

Entry fee is P15,000.
