8 men mauled by protesters in Quezon City

Eight men were mauled by rallyists in separate incidents along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City on Monday morning after they were branded as infiltrators trying to sow chaos or gathering intelligence.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Roberto Rosales said those mauled were taken into police custody for proper medical attention.
At the moment, Rosales said they would not file charges against the eight men since these persons have committed no violations.
“Wala kaming makitang violation na nandun sila,” he said.
The NCRPO chief said the eight men could even file charges against members of the militant organizations who mauled them.
“They are welcome to file complaints against those whom beat them up,” Rosales said.
Those who got mauled during the rallies along Commonwealth Avenue were identified as Benjie Dollente, Romeo Torena, Hedelsus dela Pena, Antonio Nagas, Roger Pescua, Danilo del Rosario, Eliseo Datol, and Rodrigo Daquit.
Dollente, Torena, dela Pena, and Nagas were suddenly mauled at past 9 a.m. after they were questioned by rallyists on why they were mingling among the protesters near the Gotesco Mall.
After they were held for some minutes by the protesters, the police took them into custody for further questioning and proper medical attention.
Four of the men, who identified themselves as members of the International Guardian Solidarity Action Force (IGSAF) and the local civilian crime watch, claimed they were only monitoring the area.
At around 11 a.m., Pescua and Del Rosario were mauled in front of the Gotesco mall when they were also accused of being infiltrators by rallyists.
