Music lovers can look forward to a hit-filled evening when Viva Concerts & Events presents OPM icons Basil Valdez and Joey Albert together in concert at the Skydome in SM North EDSA on August 15.

Both Basil and Joey made their mark during the 70s and 80s with hit recordings of original Filipino compositions. These contemporary classics will be the highlight of their first concert together after many years, titled “Incomparable.”

Basil’s incomparable singing voice resulted in hit songs like “Ngayon At Kailanman,” “You,” “Lift Up Your Hands,” “Hanggang Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggang,” “Nais Ko,” “Tuwing Umuulan At Kapiling Ka,” “Kahit Ika’y Panaginip Lang,” “Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo,” “Let The Pain Remain,” “Say That You Love Me,” “Kahit Ika’y Panaginip Lang,” and many others.

Joey, on the other hand, was the leading female singer in the 80s. Some of her hit songs were “Tell Me,” “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin,” “Yakapin Mo Ako,” “I Remember the Boy,” “Sa ‘Yo Lamang,” “Over and Over,” “Points of View,” “It’s Over Now,” “You Threw It All Away,” “Only a Memory,” and “Iisa Pa Lamang.”

Now based in Canada, Joey comes home to the Philippines for special performances when her schedule permits. She was last here in March for the repeat edition of the hit concert “Legends of OPM” at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

Basil and Joey did some shows together in the 80s and they have remained friends. They will perform all of their hits in “Incomparable.”

The Skydome at North EDSA is the newest place for concerts in Metro Manila.  Viva will hold several special shows at the venue in the coming months.

Among these are “Most Requested” featuring Regine Velasquez; “Ladies of the 90s,” featuring Rachel Alejandro, Jessa Zaragoza, Roselle Nava, and Geneva Cruz; “Men of the 80s” with Raymond Lauchengco, Randy Santiago, Louie Heredia, and Gino Padilla; and for the first time, Rachelle Ann Go and Jed Madela.
