Another sad note in Darius Razon's life
Mandaluyong councilor and former singer Darius Razon is now saying he was robbed of half a million pesos.
Senior Superintendent Carlos de Sagun, Mandaluyong police chief, said Razon earlier claimed that only “P100-something” had been taken.
Razon’s house on Payapa St., Bumatay village, was robbed Sunday morning by four people, including three teenagers, whom the former singer said looked like “scavengers.”
Razon said he and his family were tied up, including his two grandchildren.
De Sagun said he finds it curious that Darius would change his statement about the money.
De Sagun added that the police had presented to Razon the driver of the tricycle that the robbers commandeered after the commission of the crime.
Upon questioning, however, the driver said he did not recall seeing a bag with the robbers, which Razon claimed contained the P500,000 in cash.
De Sagun said they also presented at least three boys, including one named “Vincent” who was mentioned by the suspects, to Razon whom he failed to positively identify.
The police official thought it odd that the suspects did not take the expensive wrist watches and pieces of jewelry that were in Razon’s room.
“This even though, in Razon’s statement, the suspects told him, ‘Pera-pera lang ito, ituro mo sa amin kung nasaan ang pera,’” said De Sagun.
Despite the seeming loopholes in the case, De Sagun said he and his men would continue probing other angles and to seek out more suspects.
In 1992, Razon’s daughter was killed in a fire that ravaged their house.
In March 2006, Razon’s son—his remaining child— was killed in a car accident involving a 10-wheeler truck.
With his seemingly chronic bad karma, Razon says he is now very much “confused.”
“I ask myself…why do these things keep on happening to me…to my loved ones? Why me? Why us? What did I do wrong? Why all these trials? I don't know why...I really don’t know why.
“I have so many questions and…I just can’t seem to find my answers.”
