Martin, Pops invade Clark, Pampanga tomorrow

July 30, 2009, 3:49pm

Then and now, Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez rule the concert stage. Whether here or abroad, small venue or large, their impact on audiences has remained the same.

Martin and Pops concerts are always dazzling productions, but more than that, it is their talent – and the still very strong kilig factor – that keeps people coming back for more. During their last back-to-back concert titled “Missing You” last February, Martin and Pops drew a full house at the Araneta Coliseum and proved, again, why they are still the undisputed Concert King and Queen.

The press raved about their performance the morning after, saying that “no doubt, Martin and Pops are still the singing tandem to beat.”

The concert had everyone speculating whether a repeat was in the offing. Unfortunately, the three-year relationship of Pops with Jomari Yllana (who co-produced the show with good friend Ryan Singson) broke up soon after, putting any plans for a repeat on hold.

But you can’t put a good tandem like Martin and Pops down. So on August 1, 9 p.m. at the Clark Expo in Pampanga, that dreamed-of repeat will finally take place. Billed “Martin and Pops 2009,” it will bring the Concert King and Queen back together one more time. Expect the same level of performance, the same powerhouse production numbers, and the addition of new songs, new spiels and more kilig moments.

The “Martin and Pops 2009” concert is produced by Live Artists Production Inc. in cooperation with Globe Asiatique Realty Holding Corporation and Xevera Pampanga. Our Major Sponsor Dream Artists Production, APD Air-conditioning Sales and Services, Fontana Development Corporation, John Ray Concrete Products & Construction and PLDT.

This is also brought to us by PAGCOR, Nepo Mall Angeles, McDonalds Love Ko ‘To, Batis Asul Caterers, Nature’s Spring Mineral Water, Susie’s Cuisine, Adworks Graphics Manila, CLTV 36, 90.7 Love Radio, 101.1 Yes FM, 96.3 Wrock, GV FM 99.1 and RW 95 FM with Manila Bulletin, The Manila Times and Business World.

Tickets to the show are priced at P2,500 (Limited VIP), P1,500 (patron), P1,000 (upper box), and P500 (general admission) and are available at all SM Ticketnet outlets and Live Artists Production Inc.

Definitely, if the success of their last show together is any indication, “Martin and Pops 2009” is bound to be another big hit.
