Singaporean Jeremy Fang beat compatriot Andrew Lee, 223-210, in the sudden-death final to rule the Classified division of the PBAP Bevida-Storm International Challenge Saturday at the Paeng’s Midtown Bowl at the Robinson’s Mall in Malate.

Lee, who beat fifth seed Chen Po Yu of Taiwan and second seed Gina Lim of Singapore in the semis to earn the right to meet Fang, forced a rubber-match by downing Fang, 187-180.

But Fang found his second wind in the knockout match and tripped Lee, 223-210, to clinch the crown.

Fang enjoyed a twice-to-beat edge after topping the step-ladder semifinals by tallying 1797 pinfalls he highlighted with 11 strikes in a row in the second of eight games.

Lee actually finished third in the semis, but worked his way up in the finals to arrange an all-Singapore finals.

Earlier, Po Yu beat sixth seed Robert Baker of Guam (214-198) and fourth seed Dennis Ramirez of SLETBA (166).

Malaysian Siti Syazwani, meantime, outshone her male counterparts to claim the youth division title. Sitti rolled a 1774 series to clinch the crown.

Hong Kong’s Eric Tseng (1758) beat his compatriot Michael Mak (1722) to finish second. Jason Sin, Ivan Chung of Hong Kong and Khoo Ben Khai of Malaysia tied the score at 1698 to finish fourth.

Meanwhile, Ceasar Muere of AMBA won the senior division in convincing fashion by defeating former Hong Kong national team mainstay Chung Him. Him delighted the crowd as he rolled a near-perfect 299. SLETBA’s Mil Tan outlasted PBAP-Bowlmart’s Dennis Ho and PBA president Philip Rillorta to round up the top five places.

Euro-Med Laboratories, Bevida Distilled Drinking Water, Storm Products, Inc., Ark International, Philippine Airlines, Heritage Hotel, City Garden Hotel, Manila Bulletin, Paeng’s Midtown Bowl, Bowlmart Training Institute, Philippine Bowling Congress, EGI, Premiere Insurance, MOC, Roto Grip, AZO and Wave Products supported the event.
