The Dingdong Dantes experience can be anything to anyone who’s a fan of the matinee  idol. But the “Dingdong Dantes Experience” album is straightforward – a collection of choice cuts dance music and music videos especially made for the songs with Dingdong as the star!

According to Kathleen Dy-Go of Universal Records and the executive producer of the album, the whole project is in line with their thrust of signing-up celebrities and producing their albums like Edu Manzano and Kris Aquino among others.

“Dingdong is one of the hottest male celebrities and I believe he is the best person for this project…actually we offered this first to Dingdong. From there on he thought of all the concepts for the videos and the directors he would like to work with and everything else. It took almost two months to finish the project,” explained Kathleen.

Deemed as an “audio-visual project in one album” by Universal Records, it is the first of its kind in the market and the first album for Dingdong Dantes. There are two kinds too, one which comes with a VCD while the other is in DVD format which even includes a mini-coffee table scrapbook of Dingdong Dantes. The scrapbook of Dingdong showcases the actor in his serious, playful and sexy side. Moreover these are exclusive photos only available from the “Dingdong Dantes Experience.”

The CD side of the “Dingdong Dantes Experience” contains the songs “Cucu (Oh Yeah),” “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” “Shining Star,” “Hot Summer Nights (Ohlalala),” “Watch Out” and “Tender Love.”

While the VCD or DVD contains the music videos directed by Louie Ignacio for “Cucu,” Rico Gutierrez and Shoti Benares for “I Know You Want Me,” Adrian Calumpang for “Shining Star” and Treb Moneteros for “Tender Love.”
So which among the videos best exemplifies Dingdong’s personality?

“I must say since there are four different videos, it is also about four different experiences. Each video has a different concept because I want to give a little bit of myself in all those four videos. Ayaw ko kasing ibigay ang lahat sa isang video. Gusto ko i-distribute evenly. I believe sa apat na yun I represented myself equally malalaman nila kung sino talaga ako,” replied Dingdong.

And how did he choose the songs?

“When I first met with Universal Records, we had a few songs to choose from. And pinag-usapan namin kung anong mas babagay sa paggawa ng music video at sa akin din bilang gaganap sa music video. It was a collaborative decision and I was presented with very nice songs and ito mga napili namin,” quipped Dingdong who also hopes that his videos would be played in dance bars.

As to what is Dingdong’s goal for agreeing to do an album with Universal Records, he simply said it is because it is something new.

The actor has made a name for himself for always venturing into exciting new projects that he never deemed he could do.

“Gusto ko ipakita sa kanila na while making this video is an actor tulad ng sinabi ko sa VTR kanina isa ito sa mga bagay na di mo akalaing magagawa ko but yet I was priviledged na napasama sa mga plans ng Universal na ma-consider di lang sa paggawa kundi pagsama di lang sa isa pero sa apat.  It’s the whole experience of making it from the beginning till the end. It’s fun watching and when they hear the music they’ll remember me,” he exclaimed.

As for Universal Records, they stressed that the “Dingdong Dantes Experience” is an exceptional album project with Dingdong fitting in perfectly. Why not? He was just named one of the sexiest men in the world by “E! Entertainment.” He is also the only Filipino to have made it in the list of “E! Entertainment” which is one of the largest and popular networks in Hollywood and the most subscribed network around the world!
