Singer Nikki Gil has denied rumors that she is pregnant with Billy Crawford’s child.

“Ha? Saan naman nanggaling 'yan? Bakit daw? Ano raw ang proof that I am? Of course not! Nakakatawa naman. Kapag napanood ito ng tatay ko, magwa-wild 'yun,” she said last Aug.5 at the press conference for her new movie, “And I Love You So.”

Nikki has a theory on how the rumor started.

“Eto na lang: Eto ang isang showbiz couple [pertaining to herself and Billy] trying to make it right…trying to do things the right way. Hindi naman namin itinatago - open kami sa pagmamahalan namin sa isa’t isa. We’re not ashamed of it. We really want it to work.

“We’re talking about marriage because… parang proof lang na ang generation namin ngayon, mas seryoso sa buhay. No, wala pang date or ganito, ganyan [ng kasal]. It is good [lang] to have a life plan, good to have a goal. I’m that kind of person.”

The singer-actress also denied that she’s switching allegiance from ABS-CBN to GMA 7.

The rumor stemmed from an announcement made by a “Jun Lalin” [name of a local entertainment writer-manager] on Facebook that Nikki will be the leading lady of Richard Gutierrez in a forthcoming show being planned by GMA 7.

The Facebook account, it turned out, is fake.

“It never crossed my mind to transfer. Nagulat na lang ako [sa balita]. [In a way], it's an honor na matsismis ako nang ganyan. Sa lahat naman ng puwedeng matsismis sa ABS-CBN artists ng ganyan, bakit ako pa?” says Nikki.

Turning serious, she added: “My loyalty is with the Kapamilya network.  Etiquette na lang [lalo at] dito ako nagsimula. Masaya naman ako dito. In fact, I have lots of projects with ABS-CBN.”

Nikki said Billy was shocked when he heard about her supposed "transfer" to GMA-7.

"Sabi niya, 'Matapos kong lumipat dito [ABS-CBN], ikaw naman ang lilipat?' Ang sabi ko, ‘Bakit ko naman gagawin iyon, eh, nandito siya ?’ Siyempre, we want to be in the same network so that we can work together.”
