Dream come true for Burtscher
Six-foot-six wingman Michael Andre Burtscher fulfilled his dream of playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) when he was picked by the Alaska Aces in the rookie draft last week.
Alven Torres, who manages Burtscher through his A.T. Talents Internationale Management and Torres Group of Companies, said that the Fil-Swiss was elated when he was drafted sixth overall.
Meantime, Torres said there are many others who dream of joining the pro league.
“There are too many players, not only Burtscher, who are dreaming to play in the PBA. But most of them are not properly equipped,” Torres said. “So I’m determined to exert more effort to help them develop their skills.”
Torres said he hired conditioning coach Kirk Collier and coach John Aquino to improve Burtscher’s lateral movement and footwork.
