Kristina Bernadette Cojuangco Aquino-Yap, youngest daughter of the late President Corazon Aquino and Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., said last Monday night that she is not ready for politics even as her family has accepted the apology of TV host Willie Revillame for his statements on the live video insertion of Cory’s funeral.

At the special edition of “SNN: A New Beginning” aired over ABS-CBN Monday night, Kris said that she has other important obligations to fulfill. It was her first live TV appearance since her mother got hospitalized and later passed away last August 1. She was interviewed by Boy Abunda.

“I’m not ready to be a politician. Not in 2010 or 2016. I have other important obligations. There’s Josh and baby James,’’ said Kris, in response to encouragement by other sectors for her to run in the 2010 national elections.

Kris, 38, said that she and her brother promised to continue the legacy of their parents by helping some of the non-government organizations (NGOs). “I want to help these organizations because I’m in a position to do that.’’

Kris said that she is focused on having another baby and she was hoping for a girl this time. She said that she has told her husband Purefoods basketball guard James Yap about it. “Pero kung lalaki uli and ibibigay sa amin ni James (her husband), tatanggapin pa rin namin ‘yun.’’

She also promised her mom that she will support her brother Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. “I promise my mom to help Noynoy on groceries and clothings.’’

Kris said that her brother now stays on Times Street in Quezon City which she said will soon be renovated. But when the renovation starts, Noynoy will stay in a condominium unit lent by a family friend, she said.

“May plan na for the reconstruction of the house. Kaya lang, ayaw muna ng brother ko ipagiba yung house. He asked me to give him more time to adjust, about three to six months. He told me that the structures of the house are so important,” she said.

Kris said that after the house has been renovated, she will be more visible on Times Street. “At least two to three times a week pupunta ako doon to be with my brother Noynoy.’’

She informed Noynoy that she will be interested in having three rooms, including a meeting room. She also talked about the open kitchen and rooms for her children.

Kris also reacted to the issue concerning the live video insertion of her mom’s funeral on ABS-CBN noontime show “Wowowee’’ hosted by Revillame.

Revillame drew criticisms after he allegedly complained about the insertion of President Aquino’s funeral on his noontime show. The TV host has apologized to the Aquinos.

“We have accepted his apology. We don’t know what will happen in the future We’re not ABS-CBN. We’re not KBP. We’re not MTRCB. But we have accepted his apology,’’ Kris said.

She said that Revillame has talked to her elder sisters twice about the incident and apologized. “My sisters told him that some people really got offended with his remarks. Again, as far as I’m concerned, OK na.’’

Kris said that her mom really likes Revillame, dubbed the most influential personality in show business these days, and was concerned when she found out that he had a heart problem.

She recalled that moments before her mom and her sisters would pray the Rosary, her mom delayed it and waited for the news on TV about Revillame’s condition.

Kris said that her mom told her sisters to wait because she wanted to find out “if Revillame was okay.’’

Garbed in black dress, Kris appeared relaxed when she appeared on her showbiz-oriented TV show.

She thanked again the many people who visited the tombs of her parents at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque. “I want to thank the teachers who brought their students and inspire them about the legacy of my parents.’’
