Make it mulberry

At the height of the designer bag craze, each brand offered its own covetable It Bag. If Balenciaga had its Motorcycle bags, and Fendi had its Spy totes; Mulberry had the Bayswater bag.
Mulberry is from Somerset, England, and had its humble beginnings in 1971 with leather agendas and poacher bags as most saleable items. Barely 35 years old, this brand is now considered iconic among bag lovers.
Last year marked a major facelift for the brand, as Emma Hill joined the company as creative director. After 13 years in New York, and creating handbags for designers such as Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, and the Gap; Hill has now moved back to Britain to work with Mulberry. “I’ve always loved Mulberry and look forward lending my skills to build on the brand’s exciting recent achievements and secure its position in the international marketplace,” she shares.
Mulberry’s Spring-Summer ’09 collection marks her debut, with saturated, bright hues and blooming shades in lightweight leathers as highlights. A refreshing take on Mulberry’s It bag, and a must-have addition to your bag closet, is the oversized Bayswater clutch that can take you from day to night. We’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love with the Mitzy tote as well—a fairly lightweight bag for casual weekends.
Mulberry is exclusively distributed by Rustan Commercial Corporation and is available at Rustan’s Makati.
