Actress-VJ Anne Curtis chose to watch the concert of international pop-dance sensation Lady Gaga in Manila over the premier of “And I Love You So” starring her ex-boyfriend, actor Sam Milby.

Both events were held the night of Aug. 11 with the Lady Gaga show at Araneta Coliseum while “And I Love You So” at Trinoma Mall.

“As much as I would love to be there [‘And I Love You So’ premiere]…pero Lady Gaga to, eh!” Anne told Manila Bulletin Online at the press conference for the Lady Gaga concert held at EDSA Shangri-La just hours before the concert.

Anne hastily added that she will watch “And I Love You So” on its regular run. She congratulated Sam and other members of the cast for the expected success of the film.

“Sa trailer pa lang ay alam ko na how nice the movie will be. Madaming linya sa trailer na na-touch ako. I’m looking forward to watching the film this weekend. Kung wala nga lang ako’ng taping, I’d watch it sana the first day it opens on theaters,” she said.

Although they have been separated for over a year now, Anne and Sam have remained good friends with each, moving on with his respective life. Anne has admitted to be dating a non-showbiz guy, Erwan Heusaff, while Sam is being linked to his leading lady Bea Alonzo.

Sam was one of the first people to rush to Anne’s side when she had a road accident recently.

Anne was at the Lady Gaga press conference in lieu of her job as MTV VJ. She admitted to being a huge fan of the singer and cites her songs “Boys Boys Boys,” “Paparazzi” and “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)” as favorites.

“With Lady Gaga, it’s what you see is what you get. She’s the kind of artist who can get away wearing studs on her face or tangga both of which may be weird but these somehow look nice on her.  It’s either you accept her or you don’t – but I accept [her]!

Does Anne think Lady Gaga is being scandalous with her fashion choices?

“No, it’s just that she is who she is…no wall….very open….Lady Gaga is here to give us ‘the fame’ [alluding to the title of Lady Gaga’s album] so we shouldn’t  judge her for what she wears or who she is. Let’s just enjoy the music.”

“The Fame” is Lady Gaga’s debut album released under Interscope, a subsidiary of MCA Music. It has been certified Gold and is on its way to turning Platinum. The 15-track CD contains the hit songs  “Just Dance,” “LoveGame,” “Paparazzi” and “Poker Face.”

"‘The Fame’ is about how anyone can feel famous. Pop culture is art. It doesn't make you cool to hate pop culture, so I embraced it and you hear it all over ‘The Fame.’ But, it's a sharable fame. I want to invite you all to the party. I want people to feel a part of this lifestyle," Lady Gaga was quoted in a press release from MCA Music.
