Senator Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez are now scouting for a church for their forthcoming wedding.

The couple, together with some of their nephews and nieces, was featured on “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Aug. 11 and 12 while visiting the Sto. Domingo Church and the Manila Cathedral-Basilica.

Korina and Mar consider Sto. Domingo Church special to them because they used to frequent it when they were young.

Mike Menanan, over-all in-charge of the wedding, enumerated some of the couple’s church requirements.

“Maganda rin kasi rito [Sto. Domingo]. It’s 50 meters long [kaya] mahaba-haba ding lakaran ‘yan. Itong simbahan na ito, ang capacity ay 2,000 [people].

“[At] ang importante, [considered na] the people’s church [ito]. [Tapos] malaki [kasi nga] kailangang magkasya [ang] lahat [ng imbitado]. Alam mo naman sila, may mga kaibigan sila, parehong public figure, so may grupong Mar, may grupong Korina. Kailangang magkasya lahat.”

The Manila Cathedral-Basilica, on the other hand, also impressed Korina and Mar because of its romantic interior.

Aside from Sto. Domingo Church and the Manila Cathedral-Basilica, the couple is also looking at the possibility of tying the knot at Quiapo Church.

Mar had asked for Korina’s hand in a lavish celebration last July. The event was held at Korina’s house and was attended by the couple’s relatives and friends. There, the senator sang a song for and read a poem to Korina.

Mar and Korina announced their engagement on “Wowowee” last April 25.

In the said episode, Senator Mar said, "Siya ang nagpatigil sa pagkabinata ko."

To which Korina said, "Kahapon, ngayon at bukas, ako'y iyong-iyo."
