Powerade-Team Pilipinas failed on an upset bid against Jordan, bowing down to an 81-70 count, thus bidding goodbye to their Final Four hopes in Thursday's FIBA-Asia Men's Basketball quarterfinals action.

The Nationals were able to trim down the lead to five points, 68-63, courtesy of a lay-up by Cyrus Baguio with still 6:06 remaining in the fourth period.  But the Jordanians quickly mounted a 7-0 spurt to surge ahead and post another double-digit lead, 75-63, with 3:13 to go.

Naturalized player Rasheim Wright, who currently leads the tournament in scoring with a 20.1 ppg average, led Jordan with 21 points. Ayman Adais, who left the game after committing his fifth and last foul with 4:36 remaining, was the only other player in double-digits for the Jordanians with 20 points.

Team Pilipinas actually shot the ball better from the three-point territory with a 12-of-37 (32.4%) conversion, as compared to Jordan's 8-of-31 clip (25.8%).  But the Filipinos were simply outrebounded underneath the basket, giving up 10 more boards to their opponents, 47-37.

Gabe Norwood led the Nationals' attack with 11 points, followed by Willie Miller and Jared Dillinger, who had 10 points apiece.
