Formidable ties seen at 10th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention

The Philippines foresees stronger economic links with tourism-related enterprise as it hosts one of the most anticipated events this year for Chinese  business leaders: the 10th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC).

Regarded as a highly-significant biennial gathering of accomplished Chinese entrepreneurs from all over the world, the 10th WCEC carries the theme World Prosperity through Chinese Entrepreneurship: Addressing the Challenges of the Global Crisis.  Tourism Secretary Ace Durano (left) and Undersecretary for Tourism Planning and Promotions Eduardo Jarque, Jr. (center), discuss the current tourism business scenario and additional prospects with Dr. Alfonso Uy (right), President of the Federation of the Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), and WCEC over-all Vice Chairman, during the group’s courtesy visit. Co-organized by the Department of Tourism (DoT) through the Philippine Conventions and Visitors Corporation (PCVC), the WCEC expects to draw a total of 3,000 Chinese entrepreneurs and business leaders from November 19-23, 2009.
