Malabon City Vice-Mayor Arnold Vicencio, his wife and their two children were hurt, including a pedicab driver, when the car they were riding lost control and rammed a parked vehicle and a pedicab along Gov. Pascual Ave. in Malabon City Saturday morning.

Probers said that the local official’s wife Nadia, who was in shock, brought to the Manila Central University Hospital in Caloocan City. She was later transferred also to the Cardinal Santos General.

Their two children were also taken to the same hospital for check- up.

Traffic investigator SPO4 Rodolfo Ladaban of the Malabon Traffic Division said that a pedicab driver identified as one Siegfied Nadiera, who was hit by the car, was treated at the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon.

Vicencio and his family were riding a Honda Civic car (ZBN-768) from their home at the Araneta Village on their way to a staff meeting at the Malabon City Hall when the incident happened at about 11:30 a.m.

Witnesses said that when the local official’s vehicle reached Gov. Pascual Avenue, one of its front tires burst and rammed a concrete post. Later, the car sideswiped a pedicab.

Doctors said that Vicencio, who is still confined in the hospital, is now out of danger.
