Walk into the heart of Malaysia and discover why it’s truly Asia through a photo exhibit-workshop by Travel Light dubbed “Hello Malaysia” from August 31 to September 6 at the Atrium of the SM Mall of Asia.

With over 100 images of Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Penang, and Kota Kinabalu, including the Formula One Grand Prix, “Hello Malaysia” opening ceremonies will be graced by Sen. Loren Legarda, Malaysia Ambassador to the Philippines Dato Ahmad Rasidi Hazizi, Marixi Prieto, Thelma Sioson San Juan, and SM vice president for marketing and corporate communications Millie Dizon.

Travel Light is composed of award-winning photographers and photojournalists Chito Vecina, Edwin Tuyay, Jorge Maniquis, Nelwin Uy, Ellen San Pedro-Tuyay, Andy Samaniego, Jun Garcia, Robert Garcia, J. Lucas Reyes, Mervin Gobaco, Madge Lejano, and Anne A. Jambora. Brought together by their common passion for photography, Travel Light exhibits images of the group’s annual travel.

A lineup of photography workshops by who’s who in photography will also take place simultaneously at the SMX Convention Center from Sept. 2 to 5. On Sept. 2, Lito Sy will discuss the tips and tricks on “International Destination Wedding Photography,” with hands-on supervision and one live on-location shoot for the first 25 who registers online/remit payment. On Sept. 3, Jun Miranda talks on “Digital 101: Basic Photography and Traditional Darkroom Techniques,” with shooting assignments, digital darkroom session and photo clinic.

“Food Photography,” capturing images of food that looks good enough to eat, will be discussed by Mark Floro on Sept. 4, with photo clinic for the first 20 registrants. “The Language of Fashion Photography,” with Raymund Isaac, will have two models in four different sets; all registrants can take photos of the models, although the photo clinic is reserved for the first 20.
