A man was allegedly stabbed and hurt by his landlord Wednesday night for not paying his rent in Quezon City for three months.

Raymond David del Rosario, 23, remains confined at the Quezon City General Hospital where he was treated for three stab wounds on the right side of his body.

Meanwhile, Station 4 policemen of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has in their custody the suspect who was identified as Romeo Cleofas, 54.

Police said the stabbing incident took place at 10 p.m. inside the home of Cleofas at Lot 1 Block 8 Victoria Subdivision, Barangay Sauyo.

Investigators learned that Cleofas has been renting rooms there, one of which was occupied by the victim who supposed to pay a monthly P1,500.

Prior the stabbing incident, Cleofas, who was drunk that night, went up to the rented room of Del Rosario and demanded the payment for the rent which is allegedly overdue for three months.

However, Del Rosario told him that he could not pay the rent because he was out of work.

A heated argument ensued when Cleofas told the victim to pack up and leave if he could no longer pay the rent.

Cleofas left the victim but returned armed with a kitchen knife which he used to stab Del Rosario.

The victim managed to get out into the street and was able to get the assistance of barangay watchmen who rushed him to the hospital and arrested the suspect.
