Be cute (but fatal) in Luna Online

For gamers who want a new gaming experience, it's time you experience a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) where you don't just have to log-in, level up, and kill monsters.
Run Up Philippines, a new player in the online game publishing in the country, has brought in Luna Online, one of Taiwan's famous MMORPG that gives gamers more than just the usual hack-and-slash game.
Developed by EYA Interactive, Luna online is a cute, fast-paced, free-to-play, highly social online game. The setting: be a human or elf in the floating world of Blueland where you can be a human fighter or an elf as a Rogue, Fighter or a Mage and become one of over 40 jobs available as you grow fighting monsters and doing quests.
"Luna Online would be an appetizing entree to the multitude of online games available in the Philippines today because of its cute eye-candy 3D graphics, highly customizable characters and fresh new features," said Operations Manager Kit Chan during the official launch last August 14 at MetroWalk, Pasig City.
The game may become similar to other games that require you to fight monsters in order to level up, but you can do more than just. In Luna online, the basic rule is "Thou shall not be a stranger" and the characters itself will perform special antics and show various emotions in real-time as you chat with other online players.
Luna Online has a unique "Match Making System" which helps players in creating a party for some quests that require companions. Players only need to register their characters for a residence card in the game containing your personal profile (your likes, dislikes, zodiac sign, etc.). This is then automatically processed in the game and finds other players that matches you.
Heart icons will appear on top of the characters' head that lets you know they are suitable candidates to you. This isn't just used for dating instances in the game; it also allows you to get special items only available in this situation.
The match making system can also help you in creating a Family, which is another social feature in Luna. Some quests are required to be performed by a family instead of the usual party, and some rare items can be obtained when you belong to a family.
A Family in Luna Online is also given the opportunity to have a farm. Farming is another source of income if players are tired of killing monsters for gold. Another benefit of being a member of a Family is the ability to create vehicles for the game.
If farming is not your forte, you can go Fishing. This feature is one way to get rare items in Luna Online not found even when you belong to a family.
"We have signed five more online game titles for the Philippine region," says Run Up's Regional Business Development and Marketing Manager Ricky Chan. "Our target is to launch two online game titles in 2009 and three on or before Q2 in 20120. As you know, the first title of our online game is Luna Online. The nest title will be one of our very famous MMORPG in Taiwan." (By Carlo S. Suerte Felipe)
