P1-B power project set in Zambo
Zamboanga City – Officials of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced the implementation of a 138-kilovolt transmission line and sub-station project costing P1 billion which is projected to benefit this city.
Peter Jubas, NGCP Mindanao Projects Division head, and Engr. Ruben Conti, NGCP consultant, met with City Mayor Celso L. Lobregat and discussed plans for the immediate implementation
of the project.
Among the concerns tackled were the acquisition of the road right of way for the passage of the transmission lines.
The supply and delivery of transmission line materials has been completed and what is being awaited is the construction of the line from Barangay Sangali in the east to Barangay Pitogo in the west, the NGCP officials disclosed.
The proposed transmission line between the villages of Sangali and Pitogo aims to provide or extend reliable bulk power services in Western Mindanao.
It is also intended to remedy operational problems such as line outages and at the same time provide the supply for the projected increase in the power demand in the area.
The project covers 32-kilonmeters of transmission lines placed over 225 steel towers, according to Jubas.
“This will improve the transmission of power from Sangali to Zamboanga City,” Jubas added.
