Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized on Monday 13,886 sets of counterfeit motorcycle brake shoe worth P1.3-million during simultaneous raids in Quezon City and Legazpi City.

Raided were Nixon Tan and/or Christine Canete, et al, Mega Ideal Motors located at 135 Magsaysay St., Dona Faustina Subdivision, San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City and Alex Clores, Hi Tech Cycle Supply located at 120 Magallanes St., Legazpi City.

The NBI Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) under Regional Director Elfren Meneses revealed the operations stemmed from the complaints lodged by Mitsokoshi Motors Phils. Inc. for alleged violation of RA 8293 otherwise known as Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (Trademark Infringement).

After conducting series of surveillance and found out that there was a basis for the complaints, the NBI planned the operation. (Jeamma Sabate)
